Finding cases & patient history
Search reaches all of your history The search box on Cases searches the server, across every case your lab has taken — not just the ones on the board. Type a case number, a patient name, a doctor or a practice. The board itself still shows live work plus the last 90 days of shipped cases, which is what a board is for; search has no such window. Spelling variants find each other. Typing Alvarez, Maria finds a case whose reference reads Maria ALVAREZ, and accents fold, so José Peña and Jose Pena match. What you can see is bounded by your own permissions. If your role is scoped to your own bench, search returns your own cases — the same rows the board gives you. Patients Office → Patients lists the patient references your clinics have sent, newest first, with a case count each. Open one to see every case under that reference, oldest first, with the restoration, material, shade and arches — which is the answer to *what did we make for her last time*. A case page also shows N other cases with this patient reference when there are any. Casetop holds the patient reference your clinic sent, not a patient record — that belongs to the practice. Patient identity is scoped to the practice, so the same name at two different practices stays two different people. You can look a patient up by the reference exactly as it was sent — Alvarez, Maria, maria alvarez and MARIA ALVAREZ all reach the same history. When two references are the same person A patient view proposes references that may be the same person — the same words in a different order, one with a middle initial, or a spelling that differs by a character or two — and says why. Nothing is grouped until you press Same person, and undo reverses it. Your original references are never rewritten. When one reference is two people Two different John Smiths at one practice look identical to any name match, so they start grouped. Tick the cases that belong to the other person and press Not the same person; those cases move to their own reference. This is the direction a name match cannot work out for you, which is why it is a button rather than something clever. Exports On Cases, Export shown gives you exactly the rows on screen, filters and all. Export all matching runs on the server and gives you every case matching the current search and filters, from all history. A patient view has its own Export CSV — every case under one reference, which is the shape a records request or a warranty dispute asks for. Both server-side exports are recorded on your audit log with who ran them and how many rows they took.
